Neurodiversity

Why is this here?

The graphics on this page were an advertisement from years back that resonated with me. Not just because I am creative and free-spirited. But also because I am analytical and realistic. I find myself in the balance of the two. Growing up due to the fact that doctors were still learning how the brain functions. In more recent years doctors have been able to learn that the Autistic mind is more than just the left brain and not often the right brain. Because from the outside looking into the Autistic experience you will not understand it. More recently I read a lot of books by those who have lived the experience of Autism and shared their experience. I found myself in so many of those experiences. If you are looking for more information about different experiences on the Spectrum of the human experience. I am very much Autistic but have also deep-dived into ADHD because my mother and brother are both ADHD. I just want to share some resources with those who are also on the journey to understanding their experience in the world. We experience the world on a spectrum and we should not discount anyone else's experience even if we were in the room when they experienced something completely differently than we did. So much of our life is peppered with our past experiences and how our brain observes them. For me something as simple as grocery shopping can be mentally overwhelming on a bad day. I have to mentally prepare and regulate my emotional state before even a task that is often simple for many.
